- Abstract
The article discusses the study of gully erosion in analyzing the evolution of a valley bottom gully in relation to land use vegetation cover and exploring the role of land use and vegetation cover on the topographical threshold concept. It cites the study area located in the Parapuños experimental catchment situated in southwest Spain. It concludes that historical aerial photographs and geomatic technologies are useful in understanding the environmental evolution and relationships between land use, vegetation cover and degradation processes.
