- Title
A Rejoinder to 'Comments on 'Race, Alienation and Consumerism''
- Authors
Pruden, Henry O.; Longman, Douglas S.; Shuptrine, F. Kelly
- Abstract
The article presents a response by the authors to criticisms by E. Laird Landon, Jr. and William J. Lundstrom of the article "Race, Alienation, and Consumerism," appearing in the July 1972 issue of "Journal of Marketing." The article reported the findings of a survey of Anglo-Americans, Mexican-Americans and Blacks which revealed that a positive and significant relationship exists between alienation and belief in government intervention in the marketplace. The authors summarize the claims and criticisms of Landon and Lundstrom and discuss their reactions.
