- Abstract
Shandong Province is a major province of iron ore resources in China, and the ore-forming geological conditions of iron ore are superior in western Shandong. Types of mineral deposits are diverse, including sedimentary metamorphic iron ore, contact metasomatic iron ore, hydrothermal metasomatic filling-weathering leaching iron ore, sedimentary iron ore, magmatic iron ore and other types. In particular, sedimentary metamorphic iron ore and contact metasomatic iron ore are the most important and the main sources of iron ore deposits in the province. On the basis of combing the space-time distribution characteristics of various iron ore types in western Shandong, focusing on the analysis of the characteristics of typical iron ore deposits, ore-controlling factors and genesis of deposit, the metallogenic genealogy of various types of iron ore deposits in western Shandong along the axis of the history of geological evolution was establishes. This study indicates that in the process of geological evolution, the formation of iron ore in western Shandong is a series of geological products formed under the highly coupling of geological and mineralization processes such as submarine volcanic eruption, sedimentation, magma intrusion, regional metamorphism, tectonic movement, weathering and leaching. Sedimentary metamorphic iron ores ( such as Hanwang type, Cangyi type, Yangzhuang type and Jining type iron ores) and magmatic iron ores ( Xiaojiagou type iron ore) were formed in the Neo-Archean era. Sedimentary iron ore ( Shanxi type iron ore) was formed in the late Carboniferous. Contact metasomatic iron ore ( such as Laiwu type and Lianziwang type iron ores) and hydrothermal metasomatic filling-weathering leaching type iron ore ( Zhuya type iron ore) were formed in the early Cretaceous. Various types of iron ore deposits in western Shandong have the characteristics of strata ore-controlling, intrusive rock ore-controlling, structural ore-controlling, and multiple elements controlling ore together. In the process of iron ore exploration, targeted arrangement should be carried out according to genetic types and ore-controlling factors, so as to promote the overall in-depth progress of iron ore exploration and research in the western Shandong.
