- Abstract
Since the beginning of the 20th century, Russia and the USSR have promoted a model of military intervention more suited to their imperialist vision than to their security needs. This has meant that, unless the intervention consisted of a lightning operation to change the government, military adventures have ended in failure. Moreover, Moscow's inability to de facto modernise its military doctrines, coupled with its technological backwardness, has turned the Russian military into an inefficient structure in which the human factor is undervalued. The aim of this article is to elaborate a model of Russian-Soviet intervention that is repeated in all Russian military adventures from the 1950s to the present.
