- Abstract
The article discusses the outcome of the in vitro study which tested the adhesive properties of three luting cements in the U.S. Studies examined the increase adhesion to various restorative materials. The three most commonly used cements include zinc phosphate, polycarboxylate, and glass ionomer. It was found that the benefits of the adhesion of a luting cement to dentin and to restorative materials include the reduction of percolation, improved seal of the border fissure, reduction of plaque formation and long-term success of the restoration.
