- Abstract
On crystalline silicon specimens with a nonuniform carrier concentration distribution produced by an optical method, a dispersion of the effective transverse conductivity σ[sup eff][sub [high_modifier]](ω) is observed near the frequency ωapprox. ω[sub c] = τ[sub [high_modifier]][sup -1]≡[variant_greek_epsilon]/4πσ[sup eff][sub [high_modifier]]. At ω < ω[sub c], an anomalous transverse effective conductivity is observed: σ[sup eff][sub [high_modifier]](ω) is greater than the transverse conductivity of a homogeneous specimen σ[sup h][sub [high_modifier]](ω) (in the frequency range studied in the experiment, σ[sup h][sub [high_modifier]](ω) = const). Near ωapprox. ω[sub c], the conductivity σ[sup eff][sub [high_modifier]] decreases, and, at ω > ω[sub c], it coincides with σ[sup h][sub [high_modifier]]. © 2000 MAIK “Nauka / Interperiodica”.
