- Abstract
All known Danish habitats of Scabiosa canescens have been visited. Sociological investigations have been carried out, assembled in Tables A and B, and the soil has been examined for pH, conductivity, water-retaining capacity, loss on ignition, content of CaCO3 (Table C) and particle-size (Table D). Emphasis on ecological investigations in soil profiles at these sites has elucidated the action of leaching and the resulting change in the floristic composition of the vegetations. A survey of the occurrences in Denmark is to be found on page 98 and in the remaining regions of distribution (Central Europe) on page 100.
