- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the cable television and the audiovisual freedom, which relates to the freedom of speech. Particular focus is given to the draft of Cable Television Law in Spain. The TV cable system has much more capacity that the telephone lines, which are also cable systems; but the cable TV implies a technological revolution in information access. The author refers to the arrival of the cable in Spain, as a radical change in the relationship of the government and the audiovisual media, since it would imply a loss of power from the first.
