- Abstract
The article discusses the geophysical attributes associated with trap sites which have an influence on the population of wild moths. It addresses the Sterile Insect Release (SIR) case study and its concerns for the fruit industry of British Columbia. It discusses the analyses of moth counts in 1999, and the plots of the mean number of wild moths caught per trap over time as well as the proportions of wild moths out of the total caught. Time-aggregated counts were analyzed with a zero-inflated mixed Poisson model and a hidden Markov model.
