- Abstract
The father had also bilateral congenital cataracts and he had a family history of congenital cataracts. The screening malformations ultrasound performed at 21+3 week of gestation revealed a female fetus with opaque bilateral lenses, compatible with congenital cataracts, observing normal optic chiasma and nerves. A cataract is a lens opacification of the eye that causes partial or total blindness.
