- Abstract
This article, published in the journal Petrology, is a special issue dedicated to the memory of Leonid L'vovich Perchuk, a renowned petrologist. The issue features papers by researchers who were part of Perchuk's scientific school. The papers cover a range of topics, including a hydro-mechanical-chemical model for fluid filtration through rocks, the contribution of tectonic processes to pressure in metamorphic processes, the solubility of chlorides in basalt, the mineral assemblages of ultramafic rocks, the metamorphism of garnet and orthopyroxene xenoliths, and the parental magma parameters of a mineralized apophysis. The issue also includes two papers in English, one discussing the strength of the lithosphere and the other exploring the role of fluid-dissolved sulfur in dehydration reactions. The article concludes by highlighting the continued research in the field of petrology and the influence of Perchuk's scientific school.
