- Title
TWO FRAGMENTS ON THE IDEAL OF SOCIAL LIFE.
- Authors
Hegel, G. W. F.
- Abstract
The article explores the author's two fragments of a perfect social life. The first fragment was written by the author while working as a house tutor at Frankfurt, Germany, and was translated either in late 1799 or in early 1800. It states that the fragment is one of the several unsuccessful beginnings for a political pamphlet. The second fragment, on the other hand, is a plan for a discussion of the living opposition patterns in the society. The author argues that the best date for the creation of the plan is before May 1801 due to the fact that the author used the same sheet of paper to copy out excerpts from two Imperial Decrees of April 5 and 7, 1801.
