- Abstract
This article discusses the trends of different inflammatory markers and clinical outcomes in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The study was conducted in India during the first wave of the pandemic. The researchers found that high levels of inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), ferritin, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate were associated with severe COVID-19 infections and respiratory complications. They also observed a positive correlation between the severity of inflammatory markers and computed tomography (CT) severity scores. The study highlights the importance of monitoring these markers in COVID-19 patients and their potential influence on disease prognosis.
