- Abstract
Worlds with Differential Passage In what follows we describe a class of growing block worlds, and explain why, at least I prima facie i , these worlds seem to be ones in which there is differential passage. For we are interested in another objection to dynamism: an objection that arises from the idea that if time passes, it must pass at a rate, and the only plausible rate at which time can pass is 1 second per second. This paper focuses on the nearby objection according to which if time passes then it passes at some rate, and if it passes at some rate, then I the rate at which it passes could be different i . 5 Raven says "The necessity of the rate of time's passage entails that there are no possible alternative rates, hence (allegedly) entailing the incoherence of the rate itself" ([16]).
