- Abstract
The article presents the research that assesses the effectiveness of marine soft-sediment communities mapping in identifying environmental variables needed for the management, assessment and conservation of epibenthic soft-sediment communities. The topics discussed include the impact of rising human activities on the seafloor communities and habitats, the two acoustic remote devices used in collecting samples, single-beam sonar and side-scan sonar, and the challenges experienced by researchers.
