- Abstract
The article discusses a study that examined the outbreak of bovine and human brucellosis caused by Brucella melitensis biovar 3 in the Frenh Alps massif in early 2012. Topics discussed include the persistence or reemergence of Brucella in livestock, the wild ruminants in the area including hunted red deer, chamois and protected Alpine ibex and suggestion that Alpine ibex is a potential source of bovine brucellosis reemergence.
