- Title
Joan in my life.
- Authors
Czarniawska, Barbara
- Abstract
While her colleague sociologists are describing Joan Acker's groundbreaking contributions to the discipline, especially - though not only - to gender studies, I would like to say something about Joan as a person, one of the most lovable I ever met in my life. I was introduced to Joan by my two friends, Swedish feminists, whom I met during my year spent at the Swedish Center for Working Life in Stockholm, Annika Baude and Wuokko Knocke. Annika and Wuokko introduced me to Swedish feminism, but it was Joan who widened my knowledge immensely.
