- Abstract
The authors reflect on the possible connection between male circumcision and lower rates of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and other sexually transmitted infections (STI's). Analysis of a research paper on this topic appearing elsewhere in this issue is provided. Special attention is given the prevalence and prevention of such infections in sub-Saharan Africa. Other topics include heterosexual circumcised Muslim men in Africa who are less likely to have sex outside marriage.
