- Authors

- Abstract
This article explores the relationship between economic freedom and the fiscal conditions of cities in Tennessee. The study finds a positive correlation between municipal fiscal health and aspects of an economic freedom index. The study focuses solely on cities within Tennessee to minimize multistate government influences on economic freedom. The research utilizes audited financial statements and the change in net position as a fiscal health metric. The study concludes that policies favoring free enterprise and a lower cost of government are associated with more favorable fiscal conditions in Tennessee cities.
