- Title
Editorial Commentary on "Psychological Impact of Learning CDKN2A Variant Status as a Genetic Research Result" by Zhu et al.
- Authors
Holtzman, Neil A.; Probst-Hensch, Nicole
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the psychological effect of learning individual genetic research results (IRR) of a test determining the presence of L16R c.47T>G (p.Leu16Arg) variant in CDKN2A gene and the gene's link with pancreatic cancer (PC). Other topics include the predictability of genetic testing for mutations of non-Mendelian conditions like hereditary types of breast and colon cancers, the researchers' duty to inform the IRR, and the possible effect of CDKN2A variant status on the subjects.
