- Abstract
The author announces the establishment of the Urban History Society. He states that the Society has grown out of the efforts of the Urban History Group, which has been surviving since the early 1990s. The purpose of the Society is to bring together the different activities connected with urban history, to promote the subject internationally and to represent it at national level in Great Britain. For details on membership and rates, http://www.le.ac.uk/urbhist may be accessed. The author also acknowledges the enormous contribution of Richard Rodger, who has stepped down as a sole editor after 20 years.
