- Abstract
The bicentenary of independence is appropriate to remind members who signed the historic act of July 9, 1816 at the Congress of Tucuman. Mariano Sanchez de Loria, was one of them, deputy for Charcas (Alto Perú, Bolivia), he belonged an old hispanic-creole family. He joined the Congress in session on June 5. It was a strong supporter of the monarchical form of government, leaning Inca restoration. When widowed around 1817 he leaves to attend the sessions and returned to his homeland where he professed as a priest. He was canon of the Cathedral of Charcas and died in Pocobamba exercising the parish in the district of the Department of Potosi on August 2, 1842.
