The degree index is an indicator that assesses the quality of a higher-level educational institution. At the Instituto Tecnológico de San Luis Potosí, the value of the degree index is 6%, AD2012-EJ2017 generation, for the Business Management Engineering study plan. The objective of the article is to analyze the causes that impede the graduation process of the graduates of this career, in order to propose strategies that allow increasing the degree index of graduation. It was carried a documentary review out on the degree process at the institution and, it applied a questionnaire a sample of graduates who have not yet graduated. It was concluded that the requirements with the highest frequency of non-compliance are: the accreditation of a foreign language, the lack of time in the working graduates, and the lack of knowledge, by the graduates, of the different degree options.
