In I Sustaining Indigenous Songs: Contemporary Warlpiri Ceremonial Life in Central Australia i Curran explains how and why Warlpiri elders dedicated themselves to recording and transcribing their songlines with her. In 2005 Georgia Curran first arrived at Yuendumu to conduct her fieldwork on ritual songs with the Warlpiri people who live at Yuendumu, an Indigenous community 300 km north-West of Alice Springs in the Australian Central Desert.
