- Authors

- Abstract
The article examines the impact of the bright-line cut-off rule and the adversarial expert explanation of adaptive functioning on capital juror comprehension of intellectual disability (ID). It explores the link between experts' difficulty of diagnosing ID and lay jurors' difficulty of evaluating the expert and lay evidence. It also explains the variability of juror assessment of ID based on some jurors' view that ID is a more organic sympathetic disorder.
