- Title
Redefining the activity of a bone-specific transcription factor: Novel insights for understanding bone formation.

- Abstract
The authors reflect on the activity of a bone-specific transcription factor corebinding factor alpha1 (CBFA1)/runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) to understanding bone formation. They mention a study conducted by T. Takarada and colleagues regarding the fidelity of a conditional deletion of Runx2 in osteoblasts and chondrocytes. They mention that the developmental impairment of endochondral bone formation is likely to involve more than blocked vascularization of cartilage.
