- Abstract
The article explores a study on the role of serum serotonin in bone mass regulation, which used a population-based sample of 275 women who were assessed by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and quantitative computed tomography. The study observed that bone volume, trabecular number and trabecular thickness were reversely related with body mass index and that multivariable models showed significant negative serotonin level predictors of femur neck and trabecular volumetric body mass density.
