An essay is presented on criminal procedure reform in Chile. It examines the impact of political decisions in transforming Chile's criminal justice sector from inquisitorial system of legal practice to adversarial system of legal practice. It analyzes the unintended consequences of the criminal procedure reform and reflects on wrongful convictions that are still taking place in Chile in this context.
