- Abstract
Objective: To determine the prevalence and associated factors of female sexual dysfunction among diabetics in Kelantan. Design: Cross-sectional study. Materials and Methods: Data were collected from 178 diabetic women in Out Patient Clinic and Diabetic Centre in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia using systematic random sampling. Malay Version of Female Sexual Function Index was used. Data was entered and analyzed using SPSS 12.0 using Multiple Logistic Regression. Results: The prevalence of female sexual dysfunction was 26.4%. Age more than 40 years, unhappy marriages, duration of marriage more than 20 years, married to husband with hypertension and duration of diabetes more than 10 years were the significant associated factors. Conclusion: The prevalence of female sexual dysfunction among diabetics was 26.4%. Screening for sexual dysfunction should be part of general screening especially among diabetics and interventions were advice.
