- Authors
Morreim, E. Haavi
- Abstract
The article discusses American tort and contract laws in relation to health care financing in the country and the nation's high-deductible health plans as of 2006, and it mentions Medicare health insurance payments to physicians and Consumer-Defined Health Plans (CDHPs) which place medical care-related economic responsibilities back in the hands of patients. Fee-for-service reimbursements and payments involving the U.S. Medicaid health insurance program are assessed.
