- Abstract
Mayan spirituality is an ancient religion in Guatemala with nuances that vary according to the ethnic group and the worldview its followers. It went underground during the colonial period, and it was not until the 20th century that it had a significant revival. It explains man's relationship with the deity and the universe. The Mayan priesthood and the cofradía have been the fundamental institutions in its survival and in the perpetuation of its traditions. Greco-Roman spirituality, the context of the preaching of the Way in Acts, bears some similarity to the current context of the gospel and Mayan spirituality.
