- Abstract
A recent study published in the journal Allergy investigated the use of diquafosol eye drops as a prophylactic measure for dupilumab-associated conjunctivitis in patients with severe atopic dermatitis. Dupilumab, a treatment for atopic dermatitis, is known to be linked to conjunctivitis, but there are currently no established guidelines for prevention. The study found that the incidence of conjunctivitis was significantly lower in the group using diquafosol eye drops compared to the control group. The authors suggest considering the prophylactic use of diquafosol eye drops for patients starting dupilumab treatment to prevent this adverse effect.
