The article discusses how marketable product rule violates the public policy against waste of natural gas resources in the U.S. as of April 2013. Topics discussed include failure of the U.S. courts in application of the Marketable Product Rule, public policy of that jurisdiction to prohibit waste of oil and gas resources, and the U.S. judiciary's approach towards pre-marketable product rule royalty jurisprudence.
