- Title
An Expanded Role for the Guardian ad Litem.
- Authors
HARHUT, BY JUDGE CHESTER T.
- Abstract
The article discusses guardian ad litem (GAL) as a means for the court to promote the protection of the best interest and welfare of the child in a family conflict. The GAL can be an assurance for the court that the needs of the child are independently investigated, addressed and protected, as well as provide information that the parties have not or cannot reveal. A view of the psychological and social framework within which the parents operate can also be seen with the help of the GAL.
