- Abstract
The article reviews the book "The Mark Left by Time Passing (Memories of Difficult Times)" written by Andrés Cassinello Pérez, a lieutenant general who held politically important positions during the transition from the Francoist dictatorship to democracy in Spain and was involved in the fight against ETA. The book narrates his life trajectory and ideological evolution, from his alignment with Francoism to his acceptance of democratic reform. The author also addresses the fight against ETA and the situation in the Basque Country, but does not provide information about paramilitary and state terrorism, nor does he reveal unclear episodes such as those related to the GAL. In summary, the book is a source for historians interested in the fight against ETA and the Transition in Spain, but it has some gaps and does not address certain controversial topics.
