Sifting Through the Multitude of Novel Therapies for Prostate Cancer.
- Authors
Ahlers, Christoph M.; Figg, William D.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the development of drugs in the U.S. for the treatment of prostate cancer, the third most common cause of death in males. Development of drugs was encouraged by the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration after the discovery of doctors regarding the inefficiency of docetaxel and prednisone. Clinicians have considered major classes of agents during the clinical trials such as inhibitors of the epidermal growth factor receptor, antiangiogenic therapies, and vaccines.
