- Authors
Tredinnick, David
- Abstract
The article features puppet-master and entrepreneur Peter Scriven and his Tintookies. Scriven was born Jeremy Peter Scriven in Melbourne on September 28, 1930, to RAF squadron leader Victor Scriven and Sir John Grice's daughter, Hilda. According to the article, Scriven grew tired of European fairy stories that were popular with puppet shows and embarked on a journey to study the aborigines in Central Australia where he first conceived the puppets he called "the Tintookies."
