- Abstract
Bulguksa Temple, located in southeast Korea, is a 1,300-year-old sacred site founded during the Silla Dynasty. It has a long and sometimes turbulent history, reflecting the heritage of Buddhism in Korea. The temple has survived invasions and was restored after being reduced to ruins during the Japanese invasions of Korea in the late 16th century. It has been recognized as Korea's first UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its architectural beauty and historical significance. The temple houses various relics and artifacts, including gold and silver reliquaries and ancient Buddhist statues.
