- Abstract
Internet has enabled the delivery of traditional reference services across geographical boundaries and termed it as digital reference service (DRS). DRS has recently transformed to cooperative digital reference service that serves remote users with information inquiry in a more well-organized way. The rationale behind exploring this topic is to extend the benefits of DRS to the libraries of Pakistan. All libraries in Pakistan have now access to Internet and capable to implement web-based services such as DRS. This awareness is an effort to bridge the technology utilization gap in library services between Pakistan and developed nations. Initiating DRS in Pakistani libraries will be an excellent addition to the professional profile of reference librarians. This guide will be significant in the implementation of DRS.
