- Abstract
This article focuses on a number of issues related to translation in Canada and the profession in general. The author discusses Canada's official languages policy and the ways that economic considerations can impact bilingual language policies. Air Canada's request to be excluded from bilingual language requirements in 2003 in the face of economic difficulties is discussed. Canada's support of the UNESCO convention on cultural diversity is mentioned. Several translated books are also highlighted.
