The article focuses on the theoretical development of science fiction (SF). An overview of the evolution of SF themes, factual data and chronology in SF, and development of ideas for SF themes is presented. The author comments on the use of the term technological ideas for SF ideas and the dissatisfaction of readers on repeatedly encountering aliens and time wrap catastrophes in science fiction novels.
