An interview with Lydia Murray, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Cook County, Illinois is presented. She cites the implementation of an integrated management information system within the county for disaster planning and a broadband coordination with Chicago for high speed Internet as projects she has worked on. She discusses the cost effective collaboration with Chicago on joint procurement services for network support and Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking in the county.
