- Abstract
The article offers information on Preterm birth which is a key determinant of adverse infant outcomes and may be spontaneous or iatrogenic, where expedited birth is indicated by maternal and/or fetal complications in pregnancy. It discusses that modifiable risk factors should be identified and addressed, both during prepregnancy consultations and at the booking visit and the consequences of preterm birth remain significant for individuals, their families and the health service.
