- Abstract
The article discusses the assessment made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on climate change, its foreseeable impacts and the tools at policy makers' disposal in the U.S. The IPCC's panel says that shifts in the way the world generates and uses energy can reduce the risks of climate change in exchange for only a small slowing in the rate of growth of gross domestic product (GDP). Several ways in achieving those shifts are also discussed.
