- Title
DE QUINCEY AND DANISH POETRY.
- Abstract
This article focuses on the contributions of Thomas De Quincey to Danish poetry. During its brief life beginning in May 1829, the weekly "Edinburgh Literary Gazette" was run by Andrew Crichton, D.M. Moir, and Thomas De Quincey. De Quincey is known to have contributed three leading articles on his friend John Wilson, which appeared anonymously in the "Edinburgh Literary Gazette" starting in the fourth issue on June 6. However, there are considerable grounds for believing that De Quincey may have contributed more than the three pieces on Wilson to the "Gazette." De Quincey was well-known for his acquaintance with Danish language and literature.
