The Best Part About Goth Sluts Is How Versatile Our Aesthetics Can Be: Latour, Kon, and Animating Cosplay Performativity.

- Abstract
In 2013, Bruno Latour wrote an article entitled "Biography of an Inquiry: On a Book about Modes of Existence,"[1] which describes the development of his thinking in advance of writing An Inquiry into Modes of Existence: An Anthropology of the Moderns. Animation can literally depict this condition, and as such Kon readily visualizes Latour's actor network theory as if it were a model of practice, and Mima's status as a "being of fiction", as an example of a "mode of existence." To make sense of what Latour might call Kon's "dazzling zigzag,"[24] is to return to the work's status as an animation, and to view scenes like those in the bookstore or the scene at the strip club in "Double Bind" as what Latour calls a "hiatus.".
