- Abstract
Here we discuss the results of the study on the influence of music on children's learning. Methodologically, the work followed an ethnographic approach, with a semi-structured interview with two eight-year- old children, their parents and caretakers. Interviewees agree on the importance of music as a support tool in the teaching process and in the integral development of children. Although it is not possible to generalize, we can infer that the use of music as a methodological tool can be a source of concentration and dispersion, depending on environmental and personal characteristics. Our conclusion is that, as a pedagogical tool, music should be aimed at the integral development needs of children and that its methodological use should be formalized in educational institutions.
