The article focuses on misclassification of workers. It mentions difference between an employee and an independent contractor has created serious confusion for many years and misclassification forces workers to miss out on benefits such as health insurance, right to unionization, and 401K retirement plans. It also mentions misclassification has been a longstanding problem, but the COVID-19 pandemic has escalated the problem.
