- Abstract
The article discusses the work of French philosopher Michel Foucault as a conceptual framework for a study on the social conditions of Bel Air, an economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Topics addressed include the concept of governmentality, an ethnography of the policies promoted by the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), and categories used in the studies of inner cities.
