- Abstract
This article discusses a case of pseudo-psoriatic nail dystrophy caused by contact allergy to acrylates, which are substances commonly found in nail cosmetics. The patient, a 38-year-old female nail technician, presented with nail abnormalities after years of exposure to acrylic nails, gel systems, and glue-on nails. Patch testing confirmed a positive reaction to 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylates, a common allergen in nail cosmetics. The patient experienced significant improvement after avoiding all nail products. The article emphasizes the importance of considering allergic nail dystrophy in patients with a history of exposure to nail cosmetics.
